In my stumbles across the world wide web I found this guy, Nick Campbell who is pretty amazing. He took the high road in motion graphics and decide to venture off on his own and one of the many reasons were his 5 second projects. The 5 second project is based on a theme that he gives and you have to create an animation to it. He’s had a lot of really fun ones and I wish that I took the time to do each and everyone but until today I had never submitted my own project. He has many blogs that venture in the realms of Cinema 4D and After Effects tutorials, how to make cool shit, photography, iPhone apps… he’s got it all. Really great guy and you should check him out at greyscalegorilla.com

The theme of CMYK is so awesome because everywhere we look and everything we see is based of those 4 beautiful colors. Its such a universal language in design that I couldnt resist taking the time to do one. As the rules state, its no more that 5 seconds long. Thats it. I’ve see a lot of amazing work done in 5 seconds so I just wanted to try something new. Andrew Kramer from Video Copilot loves particles. I mean… LOVES particles and he also broadcasts a ton of amazing tutorials. On his blog he posted a project that used many different particle emitters in sync to audio. But the way he did it was pretty awesome. He based not only the amount of particles but the velocity at which they emitted with some basic interpolation expressions and the result was amazing. So I wanted to experiment with my own music doing a similar effect and what better way to try something new than to have a project that can be so vibrant with color like CMYK.

I used Cinema 4D to model and texture the letters as well as animate the camera. I tried a bunch of different things with nulls and ended up with a compositing tag on a null rotating the type so when I exported the AE file I linked my light to the path and then had all of my emitters emit from the light. I also have Video Copilots optical flairs and thats the shiny tip of the emitters.

The audio is from Sasha’s Airdrawndagger. I took the intro 5 seconds from Drempels and the beat from Wavy Gravy and slapped them together inside of Ableton live. Since I had the melody, bass line, bass drum and rim shot on separate tracks I time stretched everything to match up then exported the different tracks and put them into AE. From there I used Red Giants Sound Keys to get my frequency data for my expressions and there you have it.

After compositing everything and I wanted to add some motion blur, depth of field and a little twitch that syncs to the bass drum. I used RSMB and Frischlufts Depth of Field along with Video Copilots twitch to get the final touches in place. The render had some issues because I am exporting so many particles that the processor really has to think about it. I’m pushing this computer as far as I can with this project and its pretty cool to watch this come to life. I hope you enjoy the 5 seconds and wish me luck in the competition. Did I mention that? Yeah, there are prizes involved too!

It was kind of a pain to get this project to get of after effects. I had a lot of issues with the particles. The computer just couldn’t handle all of them… I also had problems with the audio export from AE. The sync was way off and I had to cut it out and add it in FCP… I’ll try to render a new one on my Mac at home and see what happens.

I have to say that I never thought I’d write something like this out. Its not really a great thing to think about, death, but the reality is that our lives are a countdown to the end. We dont really have control over where or when, well ok, we do but is that how our story was supposed to end in the first place? Thats a question thats not going to be answered in this post. Back to the Bucket list… This is going to be an on-going list but in the short run here’s what I’ve got so far (in no particular order):

Travel to the Maldives for a relaxing vacation.

Learn how to surf.

Bungie jump in the amazon.

Visit a 3rd world country and help a family out.

Sky Dive.

Visit all major cities in the US: New York, Chicago, Washington (To start it off.)

Travel the US to see the most random land marks we have. (Giant rubber band ball).

Work on a major motion picture, being on set and on location.

Be a part of a animation studio movie.

Base jump with a wingsuit. Call me crazy but when I saw this it hit my short list.

Travel the desert on a Camel.

Visit Japan.

Drive an F1 car

Fly a plane.

See my daughter get married.

Well for now this is my short list. I tried to be pretty realistic with what I would like to do and I think having it in writing is a great first place to start. Wish me luck and I hope to see some of your own crazy ideas on your bucket lists!

For me music is such a core to who I am. It reflects who I was, what I’ve encountered, the emotions I’ve experienced and just an over all signature that simbolizes my life. I have explored most every genre of music and the styles that I stick with from childhood all the way to the music I DJ today maintains as a constant inside my heart. Ill be honest here, I’m not one for names of particular songs or memorizing who produced that track in which year at what studio, hell… I still dont have the lyrics memorized to some of my all time favorite songs but in my opinion; that doesn’t 100% matter. I think that many will argue that point and I encourage it because it really defines who we are. Thats a totally different topic though… After writing this post it turned into a real history into who I am, what I experienced and how music was part of it.

Ill try to take this in a series from when I started listening to music that I wanted to listen to and up to today. I started with tapes and a lot of them were sort of random picks because I didn’t really know what I liked so I got a lot of Madonna tapes, Roy Orbison, and I think the first tape I ever wore out on my yellow sony portable sport tape player was Roxette. Holy crap that was like 1986 maybe 1988. What I remember is being in Poland with my brother in law and my nephew camping at the lake that my parents got married. While we were there Poland was playing the world cup, I was catching some sort of crayfish and I think I even chased a few girls around… hehe. That might have been the beginning of listening to music endlessly and oh boy did I love to rewind that tape. For those of you that may not know what tape is… yeah I’m not gonna go there.

Let me summarize from there up to middle school. My brother really exposed me to so many different genres of music and I can’t thank him enough for it. From Bob Marley to Depeche Mode I looked up to everything that he wanted to share with me and crank over my little boombox. hahaha… oh that boombox live forever… How random is this, my first CD I ever bough was the Jetsons Movie Soundtrack. Yeah, thats right. The Jetsons. I think at first it was more the excitement of having a CD and then the songs grew on me. My neighbor looked at me all crazy for it. So FFW to middle school. This is when I was introduced to Rap. Well actually YO! MTV Raps introduced me to it (So happy I lived to see the beginning). I tried the whole baggy pants, shirts that went down to my knees with a picture of some spray paint can in the bottom left corner of the shirt and to tell you the truth I’m not sure how much I really like it and I was more just trying to fit in. That time in my life was more a phase and it lasted up to my first dance in 6th grade where I heard Red Hot Chili Peppers – Under the Bridge. It was an instant conversion to Alternative just like that pill that turned me raver from country. Yeah, ill get to that.

The Alternative rock era really defined the childhood problems I was going through. A little insight into what I use to deal with was alcoholism, abuse and lack of friendships. STP, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and so many more were the release I needed to run from the pains I endured. Little did I know that those bands would live with me until the now and probably forever. Now with the Alternative came Rock and Heavy Metal… Oh my parents really loved me when I played Megadeath or Pantera and Metallica. 3 things I remember about, ok 4 things that I can Share. 1: Coming back from Great America with my ‘cousin’ (not really, we were both just Polish) Marta, we drove past Shoreline Amphitheater and realized that we were missing the Nirvana concert… I think it was the last concert in the Bay before he shot him self. (R.I.P. Kurt, you died to soon.) 2: Playing Metallica – One at Martas house so many times and head banging so much that I literally, no seriously, literally could not hold my head up and I had to use my own hands to keep it afloat. 3: Marta bought me the Metallica Black album for my birthday at the Skating Rink (actual wheels) and it was one of the best presents I ever got for my birthday. I’m going to state that the album was their best album to ever be released. 4: The Metallica box album came out and we got our hands on it. Watched the live performance of Metallica on VHS in my room so loud that my parents heard all of the cussing, came upstairs pulled the VHS tape out, took the box set and it was never to be seen after that day… I saved the stencil though and painted it on my binders!! HA!

Highschool has to be the hardest time in a persons life. You are going through puberty, its all about fashion, status, cars, dating, clicks and everything else that comes with it. Now let me just say that up until high school I think that I can count the amount of friends I had with all my fingers and toes. I was not a popular guy but that first dance… the Aloha dance, Michelle Nessel picked me to be her boy friend and oh did my status change over night. I instantly had 3 football players hate me and I became friends with the most popular kinds in school because I landed the head cheer leader. Now let me remind you… I was an alternative rock kid that Rollerbladed. Yeah, long hair, metallica shirts and the head cheerleader. I had to adapt fast… but that really didnt happen because when my Grandma Passed (Love ya Grandma) my freshmen year in High School I became quite the angry little boy. I never really gave the top 40 music of that time a chance and I maintained my passion for Alternative and Heavy Metal.

Just a side note… I was in band from 5th grade through 12th grade playing in the Full Orchestra, Full Band, Quartette, Jazz Band and Honor band. I played the trumpet as well as the french horn. In 5th grade I tried the violin (i dont know why) and it didnt really capture me. From there I wanted to play the Saxophone but we couldn’t afford it so I bough a trumpet at a little music shop that my mom made payments too. Nice of him to be that generous. And what kind of metal head musician would I be if I didnt try to play the guitar… Did that for a few years too. Jazz was my favorite because it was very complex, fast moving at times and you got to play solo’s and be very expressive. It also challenges you to try new things and push you limits. Miss that the most from my band experience. No band camp though…

So at some point in high school, around mid sophomore year or later I ended up becoming really good friends with the country click and it sort of began a whole new world for me. Friends from freshmen year also started to listen to country and we really dove deep into that genre. From the cowboy hats to the boots and buckle we would hop in our trucks, blair our country music and hit up all the rodeo’s and country clubs in the bay area. Oh yes… country. Now Country music is moving. Its real stories. What I love about it is the emotion that people put into their songs. The performances of the artists and of course the line dancing. So I didnt play an instrument I learned to line dance. So much so that I started teaching it during which I was learning country swing… There are so many different artists that I loved to listen to from Garth Brooks, Montgomery Gentry, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr. and Sr., and even the Dixie Chicks and Shania. The music was so much fun and to partner it with an activity like dancing was an experience that I will not forget. There was a lot of whisky and beer involved. To much whisky. I even turned my nephew country!! Got him a cowboy hat and all. My friends got him drunk at a party we had too… I said no drinking and they would secretly pass beers to him and he would run upstairs, chug the beer and come back for more. Good times.

So after high school and into my years of I have no idea what I want to do with my life so I will continue to drink and live care free my friends discovered raving. We were all into VW bugs and my friend Jason met Tamara who was a raver and country girl and she took them to their first rave -EDIT- (wait… don’t quote me on that, i’m not 100% sure that was at the way it happened the rest is accurate though.). I was all against it and yelled at them up and down about how its bad this and that. Somehow they convinced me to try it once. No pressure right… Try it once, if you dont like it you dont have to do it again. So my first rave was at the old Q-Sar that closed down in Redwood City. We were shuttled in from across the freeway and during that shuttle ride I dropped for the first time. I really don’t remember much of the rest of the night because let me just say that I was riding high. So that is the pill that turned me raver. The next part we were at I had already bought raver pants and made some candi. It was the F8 campout in 2001. It was in the woods, 250 people, it had a beautiful garden and it was just such an unforgettable place and experience. Once the sun dropped down we got ready for the night ahead… a blue dolphin later I find myself floored infront of the speakers for… well I have no idea how long… But after I heard Mars play that epic set that Night I knew what I had to do… Become a DJ.

Starting my DJ career came to fruition a lot faster than I had expected. My sister (not by blood) lived a few doors down from me and little did I know… she had decks. A 2 channel Numark mixer with 2 Numark belt driven turntables! I borrowed those for probably 6 months. Thank you Kelly. I would not be here today with everything I have without those decks. =) My first set of records actually came from Tower records. I didnt know anything about the dance scene but I wanted to emerse myself in it. Shortly after I figured out that Tower Records was crap for good vinyl I began my crate digging at Remix Records in San Mateo. I really wanted to play trance and everything that Mars and Mystre were playing but I had no clue where to get their records. This is actually where Tamara comes in because Tamara actually took us over to House On The Hill in Hayward and introduced us to DJ Dingo and Reseese. (Sorry Daryl I butchered it I know…) Now this is where I got to play infront of my first crowd. It was one of the most nerve racking and exciting experiences ever. What made it so awesome was the encouragement that everyone in the house was learning and at the same point in knowledge. That was the true birth of DJ Foxx and my trance classics. And my Heelies. We partied there on Wednesdays. Oh yes… full blown parties on Wednesdays. At that time I looked to DJ’s in our local scene so Dyloot, DJ Denise, Morgan, Mars, Mystre and the rest of the top DJ’s in the bay for my musical inspiration. I knew what good songs were. What the hits were but I could never find any until I actually shopped at Skills DJ Workshop. Oh that was a money/time pit for so many of us but many was it all worth it. I’d do it 2 fold if I could do it again. Sitting in a record store and digging through the crates to hopefully find a gem that no one else had touched yet was amazing. Now my first gig, actual booking came from being friends with the promoters at Remix Records. James Dub booked me for my first show called Banana, opening up the upstairs room that was in a wherehouse above a 15ft half pipe. From Out of the Blue to Save the Rave I was droppin all the hard hittin tracks and I actually semi filled the room. That booking sent me forward to many more great adventures.

I hope I’ve kept with my inspirational music story throughout this because my life, the one you just had a glimps of is reflected through the music I listened to at the time. It really defined who I was and am today. I’m going to skip the next 10 years in the story and come to you as of now. The times have changed so much and the music has evolved because of the technology and all the artists that have really driven the path of production. I must say that my all time favorite artist is Sasha. The album that did it for me was Involver. It was such an amazing beyond now sound with such a seamless flow that to this day it lives on my iPhone, iPod, multiple CD’s and every computer that I need to be on. Its not the style of music that I DJ. Thats sort of on a different realm. The music I DJ is inspired by Sasha but the artists I choose from are Umek, Robert Babicz, Adam Parker, ThreeSixty and more. I’m more into the Techno, Tech House genre right now but I still love my Trance. For Trance, hands down, the most influential and creative artists are Myon and Shane 54. Their style is a whole new ball game. Second to them are all the artists that they remix and do mashups of. I can’t think of a bad MS54 track and they are pushing the envelope.

I’ve written so much but I need to say that I would not have the fiance I have, my child, and friends that are my family still to this day without the electronic music scene. Paul, Dan, Kristie, Jeremy, Seth, Jade, Statch, Lena, Shawn, Mea, Sierra, Mo, Jimmy, Jason, Kevin, Sonic, Happy, Jeff and so many more… (I’m sure ill add on to this list.) you have been an integral part of my life as a DJ, Producer, Friend and most importantly the person I have become today. From the music that has inspired my path to reach you and the life I live today, I am inspired by all who have been a part of it.

Made it this far? Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my story know that much more about who I am today.

Holy crap… E3 is next week!!! I thought that it was weeks away and I had all the time in the world to really get ready for it but it sure snuck up fast! I have finished all of the work that I was faced with in terms of trailers and company videos ahead of schedule so thats a bonus. We also got all of our camera gear so that we can shoot peoples reactions to our games and find out what people want to see in the development of future games. Ill break down our gear in a sec here, first off just an overview of the games we are bringing with us.

The first game we are going to show is Battle of the Immortals. The game is already in open beta and is really picking up a lot of traction. We’ve expanded to new servers and just really spent a lot of time listening to the user. The development teams are in-game, on the live servers listening.

The game is a lot of fun to play and visually stunning too. You start off and before you really know it you are at level 20 doing your first instance. This is definitely my favorite game we have! Its a fast pace Action MMO RPG that really hooks you off the top! A big focus is also the ‘Soul Gear’. The creative team really sat down and thought through each piece and how it looks, Animates and skills your character. Here’s a the Open beta trailer and a ‘BOI Blueprint’ of the Magus character Soul Gear.

The next game is Heroes of Three Kingdoms. This game is really based more on PVP with its campaigns. You do a campaign that has a player limit of 60 people!! Madness… Inside HoTK you get to choose to be part of the Wei, Shu or Wu and lead your character through defending you kingdom. Its unique in the way that the economy is really based on which kingdom is ruling the lands. So its very interactive with the community! Here is the teaser for HoTK:

Lastly we are going to reveal our game play trailer for Forsaken World. Its already in closed beta in China but we finally got our hands on the client and the game is really polished! I ill update and post it once we get back from E3!

As for the gear thats going with me to E3, its a pretty small but awesome kit! We just purchased the Canon 7D with a kit lens, the 24-135. We have the beachtek DXA-5Da for sound recording and the Sennhesier Evolution Wireless Mic Packs. All of this fits nice and snug into a little Pelican 1400 case. I really wish that this kit was my own. Its such a great run and gun setup. Once thing we might be missing is a shotgun microphone but I think I might have a solution for that… Here are a few shots of the toys I get to play with!!!

Over my short span of I think now 3 years doing motion graphics I’ve learned so much and I just wanted to share with you my journey from the start to today.

First things first… The first time I was asked to a motion graphic at work I was solo. I mean they laid off the production department and I was left to learn how to edit and do motion. Needless to say I was thrown into the fire pit and had to find a way to survive.

My first piece was for Podshow, or formally Podshow and now being released as Mevio. They asked me to redo the sting for the company that would be anchored on to every video uploaded as well as distributed to all of our 3rd party producers to place on their videos. Pressure much?

This verson was not released. This was my favorite of the bunch that I made. Funny thing is, I dont have the current version uploaded, ill have to get it and upload it to vimeo soon.
UPDATE: I uploaded it and the final approved version is after the unreleased.

Ill try to go in order of creation but that wasnt how I uploaded everything. The next few movies were for the branding of our individual channels. Mevio has 4 main channels or networks, Men Women Tech and Music. I was asked to make an animated graphic for each. Here are those:

I really dont like the womens one. It was poorly done, the director for it never really knew what they wanted.

When our president was finally picked we wanted to do world wide coverage of the inauguration so I was asked to make a bumper for the all of the clips. I really enjoyed making this in a day and I think the outcome was pretty awesome!

This next piece was for promotion purposes. It was basically an ad of what we could do for you. The concept was a box that we passed around to different producers and each one said a piece of the marketing who ha ha. Looking back at it now, I’d do a few things a little differently but I still like it.

CES2010 was pretty big this year and we wanted to cover the coverage and we called it: CESPool. This was a lot of fun to make. I wanted to go for a techy animation to hit on the technology covered in the event. This was just a bumper graphic to brand the segments since it wasnt really a show.

This next video was done using only after effects. I wanted to get more comfortable with Particular 2 so I decided to just jump in and try something different. I used CC Sphere as well as some Tracode Shine and Trapcodes Soundkeys to map the particle movement to different frequencies.

After being laid off, I found a contract gig with a company called Sky Creative. They wanted an animation the was synced to another animation. I had to work with another motion designer doing the video that showed off the products for Safilo and I did the LED panel animation that accompanied that. The video was played for 3 or 4 days in New York as well as Las Vegas and a big fashion show convention where Safilo has a 10k sq ft. Booth with a runway. Pretty exciting to tell you the truth. Here’s the animation that I had to do for it.

2 more left!! Thx for staying with me if you have read through this far. This next one gained so much traction and was played by thousands. Really the first animation of mine that got so much play time and it was just a fun little test using a voxel preset and some mograph dynaimics inside my 3D app, Cinema 4D.

This last piece was a quick 2 day, actually 2 late night into early morning creation done for a pitch. They wanted to spoof off of the ESPN Sports Center look for the US Food Service. The first part of the animation I made the scene but another animator did the animation and I did the second part of this which was the logo reveal.

I have to thank you for taking the time to take a look at my progression over the years. There were many more little pieces that I made but they were all for live action videos and I just dont have the time to dig them all up. Keep up with the videos that I create on my vimeo page.

I love to shoot photos. Its nothing new around all of my friends that candid photos are my thing. I’ve been doing it for years and I love to get peoples expression when they are not posed. They really put emotion to photos and it creates a scene that is not acted out, because we all know that people dont know how to act naturally when they are being shot. Actors and models are exceptions, yes. So this past weekend I went to Infected Mushroom, which I will talk about in my next post, and my baby girls friend’s first birthday. I took a ton of photos and for the first time, I wanted to take some time with them, go through them all, pick the 4 and 5 star photos and edit the pictures.

I use Aperture, (amazing piece of software!) to import and color correct all my photos. As of this weekend that is. The color tools are really powerful. Especially if you are shooting RAW. The ability to to adjust everything, I mean everything. Within the RAW Fine Tuning tools you adjust the “Boost” (exposure) “Hue Boost” (Color Saturation), Sharpening, Edges, Moire and Radius. Thats only if you are shooting RAW. Going past that you have you White Balance, Exposure, “Enhance”, Levels, Highlights & Shadows, and Color. Those are the categories and then all the adjustments within those really give you some incredible fine tuning. And to add to all of that you have various effects that you can add, such as Vignetting. Ill say this now, if you are someone who wants to really step up your level of photos in post, get this piece of software. Photoshop is great too, but much more processor intensive when you are trying to edit hundreds of photos at a time. Yeah, Hundreds!

So back to the photos… On a normal day, I take a ton of photos, import them and then just upload them to my Flickr account. Since these photos were for a first birthday, super special event, I wanted to give them a great gift of some really great looking photos so I decided to edit them. I must have spent well over 6 hours going through the roll of film, rating the photos, SO easy with Aperture, just press 0-5 over a photo that you are viewing. Once they were sorted it was time to edit!! I was actually really excited to get through them and really spend sometime making each chosen photo shine. I think that I used every single option that was available to me so that I could create vibrant photos for Riley’s first birthday.

After 5-8 hours, I didnt keep track, I finally posted all the photos online, on my flickr account, and I could not be more proud. I’m really happy that eye has progressed to be as detailed as it is and would actually love to show people what I do, if you are interested, in post to make the various photos shine. Let me first post a few that are edited and on my flickr account, and then I will upload the enhanced photos.

I was having a conversation last night over a delicious denver omelet crepe about promotions. We were talking about throwing a party with Andy Moor and how fast we need to get fliers printed for the event. (We are not going to book him.) We came to realize that the old school way of putting fliers in peoples hands is just not the way to promote anymore. Social networking through Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and all the other giants is what makes today so exciting and unique when it comes to gathering people and showing your event or product to thousands. A simple email list, tweet or status update can attract more people than one really realizes, to show this in a live setting Dave Chappelle broadcasted through Facebook and Twitter that he was going to do a show at Pioneer Square… the outcome was amazing. He thought that only a few hundred people were going to show but because of the wild fire that struck through the social networks, thousands ended up showing.

Dave Chappelle’s live performance at Pioneer Square was not a PR move, he was not accompanied by security guards, he did not have producers all around him calling shots, it was native, naked, true raw comedy by the artist to the people. Just to rewind incase you dont know, Dave Chappelle started out with a movie that is still famous, “Half Baked” where he stars as a stoner, finds a girl, his best friend gets locked up in jail for killing a horse and they raise money through selling medical marijuana. Its a true must see movie. Later on in life he got his own show, “The Chappelle Show” featured exclusively on Comedy Central. A show where he did some gut busting comedy through real life events or just imitating some of the latest news… also a must watch.

Now that you know a little about him you should tune into this video clip of his over 2 hour long performance. I cant express enough how pure and raw something like this is. He got there at about 12:53am, walked up to the little stage they have for summer events at Pioneer Square, turn on his first time guitar player lunchbox size amp that was only heard by the first few rows of people and cast off on his comedic trip. Since we all know how much cops love to harass people and ruin all the fun, they didnt. He even addressed it by saying, “Portland Police were kind enough not to arrest me”.

Directly from Oregonlive.com here is how the wild fire event of this performance escalated to being over 4000 people strong!

// begin oregonlive.com //

Local35 clothing store owner Justin Machus wasn’t at his Hawthorne Avenue boutique at 4:58 p.m. when he logged onto Facebook with his phone to update his status to reflect that Chappelle was shopping in the store, taking advantage of “double rewards” day for frequent shoppers.

“David Chapelle in my store an I’m not there!!!!,” he wrote.

Then Machus, who shifts frequently between updating Facebook and posting short comments on Twitter, turned to Twitter. “Dave Chappelle has a Local35 rewards card!… I wasn’t here… “

Moments later, a friend replied to his Facebook status change: “what?? i heard about a secret show tonight??”

Machus responded 10 minutes after his original post. “Yeah! Free standup, Midnight tonight at Pioneer Place! he was on his way to buy an amp for the show! He bought a few things!”

For good measure, Machus repeated the news on his Local35 Twitter page. “Free Dave Chappelle standup at midnight tonight at Pioneer Square!!!”

Two hours later, one of his 334 followers, Scott Serchen of San Rafael, Calif., posting as “hiveprojects,” responded: “forrealz?”

Machus quickly replied: “It was from his mouth. He said to spread the word.”

Then Machus added, “This may be getting out of hand.”

A few minutes later, at 7:17 p.m., Machus was worried.

“This is out of hand. Poop.”

Later still, dressed in a white shirt and carrying purple Master Piece cycle bag into the crowded Pioneer Courthouse Square, he updated Facebook again: “this is getting crazy.”

He turned to Twitter: “Dave is here, massive crowd judgement fail. no sound system other than a battery powered Vox amp.”

Then after midnight, back to Facebook: “Dave is seeking out a better soundsysten. Didn’t expect this crowd.”

He returned to Twitter: “This might get ugly. Bad energy brewing.”

An hour later: “Easily, one of the strangest events in my Portland history. Blame it on me and other Twitter people?Hope not.”

Shortly after 4 a.m., Machus wrapped up the night with this post: “that was a bizarre evening with Chapelle. Blame it on Twitter? Quite the social networking experiment.”

// end oregonlive.com //

An event this strong is something we all may dream of and in the not distant past, it took months of planning and promotions to make it happen but in the way of web three (we are WAY past web 2.0) social marketing is the future for event marketing and social interaction. The better bonus to this is that we can save some trees and with all the print that would have had to happen to make something like this be true.

[media id=1 width=480 height=360]

A few little pieces of work that inspire to push life.

Over the weekend I was really inspired to make a few photo enhancements to pictures that were taken over the weekend. In this busy world that we live in, finding the time to enjoy life often seems like something we take for granted. The main photos here are of my Daughter Hayden. She takes the granted into pure view of the life that I should live every moment of everyday. As it was said, the past is history the future is unknown, the present is a gift and thats why its called the present. True words to live by.

Little Wonders

The first one is Hayden at Little Wonders. This picture was taken a little while ago and I really just wanted to add some color saturation to it. The sun was coming down and threw the little play slide castle thing and it added this beautiful red to her blond hair. I really wanted to emphasize it so thats what I did! Named “Little Wonders”

Fly Hair Fly!

This next one is from this weekend. We were at our aunts house, playing in the pool, eating some great food and just having a great time. Hayden was sitting on the chair and we were covering and uncovering her with a towel and I got this perfect shot just as the towel revealed her. I added a bunch of color effects since there was no flash and the image was dark. I really love how this turned out! I call it Fly hair Fly!

These are just a couple photo manips but I have many more pieces of artwork on my deviant art page. Check em out as well as all the other amazing artists that submit work there.

So how rediculous is this. Actually, I think that its absoulte comedy. For those of you that dont know what the Colgate Wisp is, its a toothbrush/toothpick thats meant for travel. You keep it in your purse, your bag, your back pack or where ever you want to keep this little thing. It has toothpaste on it and all you have to do is scrub. I actually used it for my trip to Europe, since the flight is about 14 hours in length, it was nice to get a crisp clean and fresh taste in my mouth. Thats not the reason for this post though, I just found this awesome commercial, actually infomercial that Colgate did for its Wisp. I thought it was comedy! Enjoy!
